Clove-Oil-Uses-2

Clove bud essential oil is steam distilled from the flower bud and stems of the clove (Syzgium aromaticum) plant. It has a sweet, spicy fragrance and is one of the ingredients in Young Living’s most popular blends, Thieves.

Clove Bud Oil Uses

Cooking: Clove essential oil can be substituted for ground clove in cooking. Start with less than one drop of clove essential oil by using the “toothpick method”* since these essential oils are extremely concentrated and potent – you will always need far less essential oil than you would if you were using the dried herb itself.

Topical: Dilute one drop of Clove essential oil with 1/2 teaspoon of carrier oil (coconut oil or Young Living’s V-6 Massage Oil) and massage onto bottoms of the feet prior to bedtime.

* Toothpick Method: Take a clean toothpick and insert it into the center hole of the dripper cap on your bottle of Young Living Clove oil, then swirl the toothpick into your recipe. If you need a touch more flavoring take another clean toothpick and repeat the dip and swirl. This method is for when one drop is too much.
